Construction Phases & Challenges
The project was completed in three phases, allowing the veterinary hospital to remain open for business. This was particularly challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic, as it necessitated altered access guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, DESCCO workers were able to perform the necessary renovations while adhering to OSHA construction standards and COVID-19 best practices for construction jobsites. In Phase I, our team began by demolishing half walls, cabinets, countertops, carpet, and installing steel stud framing for new office workspace walls. The use of Zip walls provided ample dust protection, helping to keep the workspace clean and safe. Throughout Phases II and III, DESCCO continued our excellent work by demolishing the X-ray room, reception/waiting area, and children’s area, and removing old water lines and drain lines. We also added new data lines, receptacles, switches, miscellaneous ceiling grid repair, installed laminate cabinets and countertops, and returned later to paint most of the existing facility and add additional offices.Ensuring Quality Work
