DESCCO Completes Expansion of the Royersford Veterinary Pet Care Facility

Designing and building a veterinary hospital requires expertise to ensure a job well done. Factors in the building process like site planning, architectural design, permitting and code review, through construction require collaboration with a team of professionals. A veterinary building must be practical, but it also has to offer comfort and peacefulness for both humans and animals. To get a better understanding of some of the finer details and outcomes when building new features for a veterinary hospital or clinic, let us take a closer look at one of our recent projects below.

New Exterior for the Royersford Veterinary Hospital

At DESCCO Design & Construction, we recently worked with our client, Dr. Laurel DeMaula, on updating the building for the Royersford Veterinary Hospital to better accommodate both their patients’ and staff’s growing needs. Some of the most important updates included an expansion for three new exam rooms, a pharmacy, and a dental surgery area. New airflow and climate controls were added for better comfort and aeration throughout the facility. It was also important that the new addition blended in well with the original building. A new roof,Hardie Board siding, soffit, fascia, and gutter were added to the entire exterior of the building, giving the facility a fresh look.  Our team of experienced professionals worked with Dr. DeMaula during the comprehensive and collaborative process, to ensure the delivery of high-quality work. Our expert staff has participated in a wide range of veterinary building construction projects, and we fully understand how to guarantee practicality, versatility, and comfortable surroundings for everyone in the building after our work is complete.  Even with great planning and execution, we know that there will always be changes along the way. During a transition of the lead foreman, our team was able to quickly adapt to ensure both quality work and effective time management that kept every part of the process going without a hitch. There were adjustments to the original design that were incorporated into the building. For instance, Dr. DeMaula worked with DESCCO’s team to change the cabinet layout and countertops to use the space more efficiently. The HVAC system was reworked extensively to provide better airflow in the existing building and the new addition. Dr. DeMaula was pleased with our expert craftsmanship and the high-quality work that DESCCO performed. She recommends that anyone considering a renovation or new build carefully review the architectural plans to verify that the design elements incorporate all aspects of the owner’s needs.

Choose DESCCO for Your Veterinary Clinic Construction Needs

After the updates were designed, constructed, and fully integrated with the hospital building, Dr. DeMaula said that they would recommend us to other hospitals and clinics. Even though there were unanticipated utility services and materials delays, we were still able to finish the project close to the anticipated schedule of completion. We are very proud of our work with the Royersford Veterinary Hospital and are confident that the updates will serve their patients for years to come!
