Working on commercial locations like manufacturing facilities can be challenging for many design and construction companies, since they require so much precision, attention to detail, and focus on compliance. At DESCCO, we have the team of experts and experience needed to carry out industrial projects successfully. We recently had one of these projects located in Kutztown, PA. The building used to be the location of the Kutztown Publishing Company, but was purchased by East Penn Manufacturing to house their Research and Development department.
DESCCO was called in to renovate the entire space before R&D moved in. Among the many things that needed to be changed, we had to construct a Lithium Analytical lab, a research and development lab, and a tooling area. ADA compliance was a big focus on this project as everything needed to be up to those standards for safety. Multiple restrooms and offices also needed renovation, as well as the locker rooms, and some of the lighting needed modifications and upgrades as well. This was a design-build project, so it was in our hands from the beginning through demolition, the building and renovation process, and the eventual completion of the project. East Penn Manufacturing now has a brand new home for their Research and Development department, and we couldn’t be happier to have been a part of this chapter of their story!
